We have a very special Pay It Forward segment this week. We initially set up with our Pay It Forward sign along Slide Road south of 4th Street in Northwest Lubbock.
Three playmakers arrive at once, but it was Stormy Clason and his mother Tammy Vaughn that arrive ahead of the others. Stormy is a medical student who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome which is an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Stormy also suffers from a heart condition. Despite his many obstacles in life, Stormy has a heart of gold.
Stormy was the one who spotted our sign and asked his mother to stop and help out a friend in need. Stormy picked Amber Marley who is a special friend of his. Amber and her family have had financial struggles and needed money to pay for phone bills and phone services in her home.
Stormy takes us into West Lubbock where we find Amber and her mother at home. Amber is completely surprised and expressed how proud she is that Stormy is her friend.
Stormy pays out $300 and Amber is moved to tears. Afterwards, Stormy said it felt awesome to help someone out who could really use the help. Stormy encourages everyone to help others in need.
After the payout, Stormy's mother told us that Stormy has had many struggles medically and that she is proud of her son. She raised him to be a man who thought of others ahead of himself.
Be looking for our Pay It Forward sign soon! You could become our next Pay It Forward playmaker.
