FORREST CITY, AR - A former Pulaski County deputy sheriff faces a manslaughter charge in St. Francis County stemming from a May interstate accident that killed his passenger.
25-year-old Joshua Plemmons of Little Rock appeared before St. Francis County District Judge Steve Routon yesterday and was released on his own recognizance.
Plemmons resigned from the Pulaski County sheriff's office last week. He had worked for the department since April 2001.
Plemmons is charged in a May 2 wreck that killed passenger Kerry Patton, 24, of Mablevale.
According to a state police report, Plemmons was trying to pass two tractor-trailers on the right side of Interstate-40 near Shell Lake when the accident occured.
