POPLAR BLUFF, MO - The John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff will hold a one-day recognition program on Saturday for women who have served in the Armed Forces.

The event will be held at the Army Reserve Building at 2160 North Westwood Boulevard.  Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.  "Women have played a major role in all branches of the military and this is our way of recognizing that contribution," said Nancy Arnold, VA Medical Center director.

"This is to be a multi-faceted event," according to Marsha Shivley, Women Veterans Program Manager.

The program will recognize the contributions of female veterans, provide helpful information on how to utilize available benefits, include workshops on a variety of subjects, encourage networking among veterans, and include complimentary lunch and door prizes.
