Traffic on HWY 63 near Bono Hill about to reopen

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Jonesboro emergency crews are at the scene of a 2-vehicle accident on HWY 63 at Bono Hill.

Arkansas State Police say they suspect one of the drivers nodded off and struck the other driver.

The accident, just north of the Dan Avenue exit, has had traffic at a standstill since about 7:30 a.m., but responders hope to have the roadway cleared soon.

Dispatch Director Jeff Presley said one of the drivers was entrapped, and both have been taken to hospitals for treatment.

Presely also said 5 Jonesboro Fire and Rescue units, 2 EMS units were on the scene.

Drivers are asked to take caution if they are in the area.

Region 8 News does have a crew on the scene and will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
