BALD KNOB--Swimming, fishing, and arts and crafts, that sounds like activities at any typical summer camp; however, Camp Quality is not your typical summer camp.
Michael Janusz is returning for another year to help with Camp Quality.
"Getting away from the medical jargon. Getting away from the hospitals. We have a 24 hour staff of doctors and nurses just in case something does happen. We are just planning a week of fun for the kids,"said Janusz.
Once the kids arrive, they are paired with companions.
The companions spend each day with the child.
They play games, swim, and most important, the companions give the kids someone to talk to.
Even the parents say seeing the kids having so much fun eases the anxiety of being away from them for a week.
"We're so excited about coming back that it has been a lot easier to pack them up and bring them,"said parent Leigh Edwards.
There is a group of campers and companions from in and around the Jonesboro area who give a week of their summer every year to Camp Quality.
The group says this is a great organization to give time to.
The staff and companions come back for one reason....
