FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Forrest City.
According to police, 19-year-old Dominique Tobar and 21-year-old Jeremy Buchanan are charged with aggravated robbery, first-degree criminal attempt to commit murder and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, in connection with an Aug. 12 shooting.
Police said the victim told them that Tobar and Buchanan jumped him as he was leaving a relative's home and put a gun to his head. Officers went on to say that the victim was shot and wounded in the leg while trying resist the robbery.
"While this incident did not result in serious injury, I would never recommend that someone try to fight an armed attacker," said Police Chief E. P. Reynolds. "This victim is fortunate that he was not injured more seriously in the struggle. No amount of property is worth your life."
Investigators included that Tobar and Buchanan dropped the gun, the victim retrieved it, and the two men later confronted him to return the gun.
