MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT)- A teen is behind bars after breaking into vehicles and escaping from police.
On August 26th around 12:15 a.m., Mountain Home police received a complaint from a resident who said a suspicious male entered a vehicle located in the area of Locust and Cardinal Streets.
Police Chief Carry Manuel reported that when officers arrived on the scene, they saw Dylan O. Lawyer, 19, of Gassville "going through" a vehicle.
Police took Lawyer into their custody and placed him in a patrol car. As officers made contact with the vehicle's owner, Lawyer escaped from the patrol car and fled on foot.
A Baxter County Sheriff's deputy recaptured Lawyer around 5:00 a.m. near Gassville. The deputy took Lawyer to the Mountain Home Police Department, where police say he admitted to entering at least two unlocked vehicles. Police also discovered Lawyer was riding around on a stolen bike.
Lawyer has been charged with two counts of breaking or entering and escape from custody, both class D felonies. He has also been charged with two counts of theft of property, fleeing, and obstructing governmental operations, all class A misdemeanors.
Manuel said more charges are expected to be file as the investigation continues.
