Ark. school cleaned after 137 students get sick

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Officials haven't determined what caused more than 100 students to fall ill with stomach problems last week, but they are taking steps to ensure more children don't get sick.

Little Rock School District officials told KLRT-TV (http://bit.ly/NUC8uF) that a company specializing in eliminating germs cleaned Pulaski Heights Middle School and buses over the weekend.

Officials say the parents of 82 students called in Friday and said their children would be in school. Another 55 left school early after complaining of stomach issues.

KLRT-TV says health department officials have communicable disease nurses and environmental health specialists investigating the mystery illness.
