TRUMANN, AR (KAIT)- A wife shoots her husband in self-defense.
Trumann Police Chief Chad Henson tells Region 8 News that the woman was protecting herself and her children.
Henson said that the woman shot a man at 528 Ellis Street just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Henson, the husband was attacking his wife with a knife, while their children were present. He says she defended herself and the children by shooting her husband in the leg and groin.
She was taken into custody and later released.
Henson says the victim was taken to St. Bernards with a gunshot wound to the lower body.
Police are not releasing the name of the woman, but Henson says she is in their custody.
