ASU Women picked second in SBC preseason cross country poll

The Arkansas State women's cross country team was voted to finish second in the Sun Belt Conference by the league's head coaches in the poll released on Wednesday. The Arkansas State men were picked to finish eleventh in the same poll.

The ASU women received 46 points and one first place vote in the poll after finishing the 2011 season regionally ranked for the third consecutive year and a 13th place finish at the South Central Regional Championships last season.

The Arkansas State men received 109 points following a 10th place finish in the Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships in 2011.

The cross country season will begin Sept. 1, in Memphis, Tenn., at the Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic. The Sun Belt Conference Meet will be held in Bowling Green, Ky., on Oct. 27.
