Forensic scientists claim WM3 fiber evidence is wrong

Posted: Updated:

UNDATED (KAIT) – Jason Baldwin's attorneys have recently sent a letter to Second Judicial District Prosecutor Scott Ellington claiming forensic scientists have reanalyzed fibers collected from the West Memphis 3 investigation.

According to the letter, fibers which were once said to be "similar, or in more pointed testimony, to be undifferentiated from sampled retrieved from the homes of Mr. Baldwin and Mr. Echols" are now being questioned by three different forensic scientists.

In fact, the scientists claim that the initial opinion of these fibers were wrong, and said that the fibers "should have been clearly described as unrelated to the fibers that were taken from Echol's and Baldwin's residences during the investigation."
