Burn bans lifted in three Region 8 counties

CRAIGHEAD, POINSETT, & SHARP COUNTIES (KAIT)- The burn bans in Craighead, Poinsett and Sharp Counties have been lifted.

Craighead County Judge Ed Hill said he lifted the burn ban for Craighead County because of the recent rains in the area. He said the rains have improved conditions enough to warrant the change.

According to Poinsett County Judge Charles Nix, he also lifted Poinsett County's burn ban because of the recent rains.

In Sharp County, County Judge Larry Brown lifted the burn ban. Judge Brown says if drought conditions return, the burn ban will be reinstated.

Fire Chiefs and emergency personnel are still urging people to use caution with all fire, especially when burning things outdoors.
