HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT/AP) – September trial dates have been set for a man accused of murdering two people in Trumann in September 2012.

The case for 29-year-old John Anthony Arnoult was continued last Friday at the request of Arnoult's defense attorneys.

Arnoult faces two counts of capital murder in the deaths of 56-year-old Constance Cole and 57-year-old John Poff. He also faces an aggravated residential burglary charge. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case.

Cole and Poff's bodies were found September 2, 2012, by a maintenance worker who did a welfare check of the home after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Neighbors told police they heard gun shots around 6 o'clock and thought those shots were from dove hunters. Authorities say witnesses told investigators that a car drove away from the home shortly after gunshots rang out.

According to Arkansas State Police and the Trumann Police Department, on September 9, Arnoult was arrested in their deaths.

Trumann Police Chief Chad Henson said police found multiple wounds on the bodies, and a disheveled trailer.

Arnoult is set to go on trial Sept. 15-19, with a pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 8 in Harrisburg.
