EVENING SHADE, AR (KAIT) – While at a home in Evening Shade on a child welfare case, a DHS worker allegedly found drug paraphernalia.
According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, deputies were called to the home of Joleta Nelson, who has now been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor, on September 4.
Police said a DHS caseworker was at Nelson's home gathering clothes for a 15-month-old child when she came across a small bag containing drug paraphernalia and called police for assistance.
Sharp County Sheriff's Deputies and Evening Shade Officers searched the home after obtaining a warrant, and the child was placed into foster care by DHS on September 5.
