From Harding University

Harding's cross country teams will compete in their second meet of the season Friday at the UALR Invitational. The women's 5K race will begin at 5:45 p.m. at Rebsamen Golf Course in Little Rock, Ark., with the men's 5K race to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Both Harding teams are ranked No. 8 in the NCAA II Central Region Poll.

The Bisons opened their season last weekend at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic. Harding finished eighth of 21 teams in the four-mile race that did not start until just before midnight because of a lengthy rain delay.

Harding's top finisher was sophomore Lajos Farkas, who placed 38th in 22 minutes, 1.2 seconds. Junior Andrew Evans was the next Bison finisher, placing 45th in 22:11.5.

Harding's women placed ninth of 21 teams at the Twilight with sophomore Ewa Zaborowska placing 10th in the 5K race in 19:06.4. She was the highest-placing non-Division I runner.

The Lady Bisons had five freshmen make their debuts last week. Tammy Kim, a native of Temecula, Calif., had Harding's top finish among the newcomers. She was fourth among Harding runners and placed 78th overall.

Harding's men scheduled to compete include: Matt Cumpian, Eric Wilson, Scott East, Andrew Evans, Lajos Farkas, Miloszc Golik, Logan Green, Taylor Lively, Woody Seagren, Matt Sherk, and Zach Uhiren.

Lady Bison competitors include: Leigh Allen, Dallis Bailey, Molly Elliott, Tammy Kim, Amber Priest, Jordan Rapowitz, Rachel Roberts, Sarah Shepherd, Kelsey Taylor, and Ewa Zaborowska.
