JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Local police and firemen were honored Saturday morning at a breakfast at the Elks Lodge in Jonesboro.  It marked the start of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars first ever Poker Run.

Charles Rizor with Elks Lodge says they wanted to show how much they appreciated local law enforcement. "Once a year we like to honor all of our firemen and police officers for the good things they do for our community and keeping us safe." Rizor said. "So we figured to show our appreciation, we'd put on a breakfast for them once a year."

All the proceeds from that event will go to the Arkansas Student Veterans Organization at ASU.
