ASU baseball fall camp to begin Wednesday

JONESBORO, Ark. ( – Arkansas State head baseball coach Tommy Raffo and his coaching staff will welcome back their returning letterwinners and five newcomers as the Red Wolves baseball team will begin their fall camp Wednesday at Tomlinson Stadium and Kell Field.

Practice will run through most of October and will culminate with the Red Wolves Series which will be contested on a yet to be determined date.

A-State will hold its annual Scout Day on Oct. 9 and will give pro scouts a change to preview the talent on the A-State roster to the start of the 2013 season. This past June, the Red Wolves Jacob Lee, Michael Faulkner, Brandon Farley and Adam Grantham were all drafted in the Major League Baseball draft.

The Red Wolves will also host an alumni weekend on Oct. 13, followed by a parents weekend Oct. 20.

A-State finished the 2012 season with a 34-23 record and reached the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference tournament for the third time in school history. The 34 victories were the most of any Sun Belt Conference team last season and the most in Coach Raffo's four seasons at ASU and the fourth-most in school history.
