A Florida high school student accused of setting off an explosion at school made her first public statement Wednesday.
JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Your medicine could be working against you, especially if you're taking an herbal supplement your doctor doesn't know about.
Pharmacy Resident with St. Bernards, Mandy Young, says people need to talk with their doctors and pharmacists before taking supplements in addition to their prescribed medications.
A class was held at the Center on Aging to educate the public on what to take and not to take.
Young says, "One of the major misconceptions is that all herbal medicines are always safe when in reality a lot of them can interact with some of your medicines that your doctor has told you to take."
Young went over prescription drugs, over the counter and herbal medicines and even some foods that aren't appropriate for older people to use when on certain medications.
