LEXINGTON, KY (RNN) – A team from the Sun Belt antagonized an SEC opponent on the road for the second week in a row as Western Kentucky squeezed out a 32-31 overtime win against Kentucky on Saturday.

In a bold move reminiscent of Louisiana-Monroe's victory over Arkansas last weekend, the Hilltoppers (2-1) went for the win instead of tying the game after WKU's Antonio Andrews made it a one-point game with a 2-yard touchdown in OT.

Quarterback Kawaun Jakes started a double pass to Andrews, who then tossed it back to Jakes for the 2-point conversion and victory.

Jonathan George's touchdown run from 12 yards out was the first score of overtime.

Kentucky was called for roughing the passer during WKU's overtime possession, putting the ball on the 2 and allowing George to go in for the easy score.

WKU shot ahead of Kentucky (1-2) by scoring the first 17 points unanswered in the first half.

The Wildcats fought back to end the half down 17-10 but never truly gained control of the game.

Andrews rushed 34 times for 123 yards and three scores, and Jakes was Jakes was 16-of-20 passing for 160 yards and a touchdown.
