Kerry Names Arkansas State Director

LITTLE ROCK, AR--Senator John Kerry's presidential campaign today named Democratic political veteran Rodney Shelton as its state director in Arkansas.  Shelton is a Native Arkansan who served as North Carolina director for former Vice President Al Gore's campaign in 2000.

He also was an assistant regional director for Bill Clinton's re-election campaign in 1996. He was campaign director for Nia Gills' United States senate campaign in New Jersey and has served in the federal departments of transportation and veteran affairs. Shelton is a navy veteran who attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and Philander Smith College in Little Rock.
