7 arrested after blocking traffic

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) – Seven people were arrested in Caruthersville Thursday after police broke up a large group of people blocking a roadway and loitering.

According to the Caruthersville Police Department, four teens and three adults—Tyrese Hyles, Jr., Travis Murray, and James Johnson, all 18—were taken into custody September 19.

Officers had been called to East 13th St. and Vest in reference to a large group of people standing in the roadway and blocking traffic; police had to disperse the crowd with the help of the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department.

Police said the four teens were later released to their parents with summons to appear at the Pemiscot County Juvenile Office to answer to unlawful assembly and loitering charges. The three man were held in the Pemiscot County Jail on the same charges in lieu of $410 cash only bond.

Hyles also had an active warrant charging him with no operator's license with a cash only bond set at $129.50.
