Arkansas soldier killed in Afghanistan

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Defense says a soldier from Cabot has been killed in Afghanistan.

The department said in a news release that 24-year-old Sgt. Jason Swindle died Thursday of injuries suffered when he was hit by enemy small arms fire.

Swindle was assigned to 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
