The Arkansas State men's golf team turned in its best score at the Mason Rudolph Championship on Sunday, recording a final-round 293 to complete the three-day tournament played at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in 15th place with a combined 896.

The Red Wolves' 293 was not only their best round of the tournament, but it matched their second lowest score this season through two tournaments.  While A-State finished 15th in the final standings, its final-round score was the ninth best of the day.  ASU cut 13 strokes off its second-round total, which followed its 297 to open the tournament Friday.

Tournament-host Vanderbilt recorded a three-round 845 to win the tournament, while Oklahoma finished second with an 854 and Ole Miss third with an 858.

Four of ASU's five competing players recorded their lowest round of the tournament Sunday, including Easton Key with a season-best 70 that moved him up 19 places in the final standings into a tie for 32nd place.  Key, who finished with a combined 220, led ASU in par 4 scoring while picking up 37 total pars, the second most on the team.

Sean Brock also posted his lowest round of the tournament with a 73, which gave him a 222 to place him tied for 40th.  Brock was able to trim one stroke of his first-round score and two off his second, while also leading the Red Wolves in birdies with nine to his credit.

While Chance Holden followed both Key and Brock in the standings, he led A-State with 39 pars.  Holden recorded a final-round 75, one stroke over his first-round score, to run his combined total to 226 and finish tied for 59th place.

Also competing for ASU, Christian Helmbold finished tied for 72nd place with a 230 and Hewitt tied for 75th with a 231.  Both players recorded their best score of the tournament on Sunday, carding a 75 and 76, respectively.

ASU will return to action Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 at the Puma Intercollegiate, hosted by Xavier in Fort Myers, Fla.
