BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT)- A Baxter County sex offender turns himself in on a warrant out of Wyoming.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says officials in Laramie County, Wyoming were searching for William Richard Tallerdy, 28.

Authorities in Wyoming wanted Tallerdy on a felony warrant for escape from a transitional center and for probation violations on two previous counts of sexual assault in the third degree. They were able to locate Tallerdy after they learned that he was a registered sex offender in Baxter County.

On Tuesday, Wyoming officials contacted the Baxter County Sheriff's Office for assistance in serving the warrant.

Sheriff's deputies made attempts to find Tallerdy at his home and at his listed place of employment, but they weren't able find him at either location.

On Wednesday, Sheriff Montgomery says the sheriff's office sent out an alert to officers in Baxter County and surrounding counties to watch for Tallerdy.

Within two hours of the alert, Montgomery says Tallerday turned himself into the sheriff's administration offices.

Tallerdy is currently in the Baxter County Detention Center without bond. He is awaiting extradition to Wyoming on their warrant.
