From Harding University
Harding men's soccer plays its second of three straight home games Friday at 7 p.m., when it hosts Upper Iowa University in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association action.
Harding (3-4-1) enters the game with a 1-2-0 conference record, tied with Upper Iowa for fifth place in the eight-team conference. The top four teams advance to the conference tournament at season's end.
Harding is coming off a 1-1 tie with Central Baptist in non-conference action Tuesday at the Harding Soccer Field. The Bisons' goal came from senior Victor Moya in the 16th minute, but Central Baptist knotted the game in the 73rd minute. Moya became the ninth different Bison to score one of Harding's 10 goals this season.
Harding tied a season high with 21 shots in the game, but managed only four shots on goal.
Upper Iowa, a school of 6,000 students located in Fayette, will be playing its fourth straight road game Friday. The Peacocks have lost their last two, including a 3-1 loss to Mount Mercy on Wednesday. UIU competes in the NCAA II Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in every sport except men's soccer.
Harding and Upper Iowa have never met in men's soccer action.
