PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – The boil water notice for the St. Francis River Regional Water district has been lifted.

The St. Francis River Regional Water district was originally under a boil water notice until further notice.

The Department of Health issued the notice for the entire system.  It was issued as a precautionary measure because water may have been contaminated due to a lack on disinfection.

The order remained in effect until the system passed a bacteriological survey that showed the water is safe to drink.

While under the boil water notice, customers were encouraged to boil water for one minute before using it.  They say only boiled water should be used for food preparation and drinking.
