SEC VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Sept. 24 – Sept. 30)

 

SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Whitney Billings

Right Side, Kentucky

6-1  • Jr. • Helena, Ala.

 

• Posted a pair of double-doubles in a 2-0 week for Kentucky; averaged 4.14 kills, 4.43 digs and 1.14 blocks per set

• Hit .313 for the week and nearly doubled her digs per set average (season average is 2.59 dps)

• Started the week with 10 kills, a season-high 16 digs and four blocks in a sweep over No. 25 Tennessee. Billings hit .455 with no errors against the Lady Vols, marking her first career double-digit kill effort without an error

• In the weekend finale, Billings tallied 19 kills, 15 digs, four blocks and a pair of aces in a win over Auburn. She averaged 0.43 aces per set last week and is tops in the SEC in aces per set (0.40) in league play

 

SEC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Whitney Little

• Averaged 2.14 blocks per set in a 1-1 week for Missouri

• Posted five blocks versus Texas A&M; recorded 10 blocks in a win over Georgia and set a new Missouri record for 10-block matches in a career with four

• Tallied 11 kills, three aces and a .320 attack percentage on the offensive end

• Ranks first in conference play in blocks (2.00 bps); Missouri leads the league with 3.45 blocks per set in SEC matches

 

SEC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Megan Pendergast

Libero, Texas A&M

5-6  • Sr. • League City, Texas

 

• Led Texas A&M's defense with 5.14 digs per set in a 3-1 win at Missouri and a 3-0 sweep at Alabama

• Had a team-high 21 digs at Missouri; helped the Aggies hit .294 as a team versus the Tigers

• Added a career-high eight assists on the offensive end as A&M notched its first win in Columbia since 2008

• Tallied her fourth-consecutive double-figure dig output with a match-high 15 digs in the sweep at Alabama

 

SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Roxanne McVey

Libero, Mississippi State

5-9  • Magnolia, Texas

 

• Recorded 50 digs in a five-set loss to LSU, became the 20th player in NCAA history to reach the 50-dig mark in a match

• Posted 15 digs versus Florida to bring her weekend total to 65 digs; averaged 8.12 digs per set last week

• Ranks first in the SEC with 7.00 digs per set in conference play

• Lisa Henning (OH, Missouri) – Tallied 20 kills, nine digs and five blocks in a loss to Texas A&M

• Alisia Kastmo (OPP, Texas A&M) – Averaged 4.14 kills and 1.86 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Aggies

• Raymariely Santos (S, Arkansas) – Recorded her ninth double-double of the season (47 assists, 14 digs) in a 3-1 win over LSU

• Chloe Mann (MB, Florida) – Had a career-high 20 kills while hitting .621 in a 3-1 win at South Carolina

• Janeliss Torres-Lopez (MB, Arkansas) – Averaged 3.14 kills and 1.14 blocks per set while hitting .571 in an undefeated week for Arkansas

• Allegra Wells (RS, Ole Miss) – Had a team-high 14 kills on the road at Alabama

• Briana Bahr (RS, Georgia) – Averaged 2.50 points per set in a road loss at Missouri      

• Ashley Veach (L, Ole Miss) – Tallied 28 digs (4.00 dps) and 10 assists (1.43 aps) in a 1-1 week for Ole Miss

• Liz Fortado (OPP, Arkansas) – Blocked six shots in a 3-0 win over Auburn; recorded seven kills in a four-set win over LSU

• Brittany Northcutt (OH, Georgia) – Had seven kills, five digs and two blocks in a loss at Missouri
