JPD release name of pharmacy robbery suspect

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Jonesboro police have released the name of the suspect in Monday afternoon's armed robbery at a local pharmacy.

Detective Brandon King tells Region 8 News that Gabriel Dorton, 37, was the man who walked into Super V Pharmacy on Matthews Street. According to JPD, the robbery happened around 4 p.m.

Police say Dorton handed the pharmacist a note demanding drugs. The suspect left the store on foot, and was caught a short time later at a house on Logan Avenue.

Dorton is in the hospital tonight after police say he swallowed several of the prescription painkillers he stole.

He is expected to appear in court Tuesday morning to face aggravated robbery and other charges.
