A-State team sendoff for FIU Wednesday morning

JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) – The 2012 Arkansas State University football will be playing on the road this week and you can show your support for the Red Wolves by attending a special send off event this Wednesday (Oct. 3) morning in the parking lot of the ASU Football Facility,which is located at the southwest corner (Gate One) of Liberty Bank Stadium.

The Red Wolves, under head coach Gus Malzahn, will be departing this Wednesday at 10 a.m. (CT) for its trip to Miami, Fla., to face the Florida International (FIU) Panthers.  Opening kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (CT) this Thursday (Oct. 4) in a Sun Belt Conference (SBC) contest to be televised live on ESPNU.

A-State fans are encouraged to gather outside of the ASU Football Facility at approximately 9:30 a.m. (CT) to cheer on and wish the respective 2012 Red Wolves football student-athletes, coaching staff, and support personnel all the best prior to their departure for FIU.  Both the A-State band and cheer squad will be present for the event.

Those ASU fans planning to make the trek to Florida for the game are encouraged to wear red in order to distinguish themselves on the ESPNU televised broadcast.

Following this Thursday's contest, the Red Wolves return home Saturday, Oct. 13, to take on the South Alabama Jaguars in a 6 p.m. (CT) game at Liberty Bank Stadium.  The SBC matchup will represent A-State's annual Homecoming contest.  Tickets for all 2012 ASU home games may be purchased by contacting the ASU Ticket Office at 870-972-2781 or 1-888-ASU-FANS
