JEFFERSON CITY, MO -- Missouri law enforcement officers issued more than 15,000 citations during a two-week ``Click it or Ticket'' campaign. The state department of transportation released the figures today.
The increased enforcement campaign was conducted from May 24th to June 6th. It aimed to increase awareness of all traffic laws, especially seat belt and child restraint laws. Of the citations, almost 4,000 citations were for seat belt violations. More than seven-thousand were for speeding. Officers also issued 80 citations for driving while intoxicated.
