The 36th-ranked Harding women's golf team tied its second-best score in program
history and is just seven strokes off the lead after one round of the UCO
Classic, played Monday at Lincoln Park Golf Course East.
Led by sophomore
Emily Plyler's 2-over 73, Harding
shot 303 and is in seventh place of 17 teams. Plyler's round tied her
career-best 18-hole score and has her tied for seventh overall, just three
strokes off the lead of Arkansas Tech's Rebecka Surtevall and Newman's Kiersten
Klekner-Alt.
Dallas Baptist and St. Edward's are tied for the team lead
at 296.
Harding sophomore Brittany Marquez, the 49th-ranked
player in Division II, and senior So-Yun Kim both shot 76 and are
tied for 20th. Senior Becca Godman shot 78 and is tied
for 44th.
The final round is Tuesday.
