NEA Women's Clinic provides free flu shots

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- The NEA Women's Clinic in Jonesboro provided free flu shots to those willing to brave the chilly temperatures Saturday morning.

Amy Lane administered the flu shots.  She says there's a big myth surrounding the vaccine. "It's a killed virus so it doesn't actually give you the flu like people think.  So everyone needs to protect themselves from the flu because we've seen people coming in since August with the flu already."

Lane says they've seen people come in with flu like symptoms earlier this year, and encourages people to get another flu shot next year, due to multiple strands of influenza.

The event went on from 9 a.m. to noon.
