Harding men's soccer struggled to put together an offensive attack,
and Christian Brothers held onto an early lead and defeated the Bisons
1-0 in non-conference action Sunday.
Harding (4-7-2) is winless in its last four games since a 3-0 victory
over Upper Iowa on Sept. 28. Sunday's game was the Bisons' second of
four straight on the road. Harding will be back in MIAA play against
Southwest Baptist on Thursday in Bolivar, Mo.
Christian Brothers (4-5-1), who won for the first time in its last four
games, scored in the seventh minute on goal by Jose Ferraz. Buc Neil
Cummings sent a through ball forward to Adamandios Toras who crossed it
to Ferraz for his team-leading fifth goal of
the season.
Harding had only three shots in the game, two coming before halftime.
Christian Brothers goalkeeper Britton McGuire, who made his first start
of the season, needed to make only one save in the shutout.
The Bucs had 25 shots, eight on goal, and Harding goalkeeper Chase
Keeney made seven saves.
