JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) – Senior Jasmine Terry and junior Megan Baska were named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week after leading Arkansas State to a 3-0 record last week.
Terry had 60 kills and a 5.00 kills per set average in three matches. She set a career-high with 24 kills against Southeast Missouri State, while adding 22 kills in a four set victory over Troy. She finished the week by helping A-State to a sweep over South Alabama where had 14 kills and a .321 hitting percentage, which was her second highest percentage of the season.
Baska totaled 58 digs on the week and moved into fourth-place on the all-time ASU career digs list with 1,383 for her career. She had 21 digs against SEMO in the Red Wolves' thrilling five-set victory over the Redhawks and then added 21 more digs against Troy. She finished the week with 16 digs against the Jaguars and averaged 4.83 digs per set during the week.
The Red Wolves will return to action Friday, Oct. 12 for a road match against Louisiana-Lafayette.
