Capterra’s Project Management Election 2012 Kicks Off Today
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) October 09, 2012
Capterra, an online service that connects buyers and sellers of business software, is holding a race for Project Management Presidency. With so many options available, (more than 500 in Capterra's Project Management Directory), it’s hard for project managers to sort through them all and determine the leaders.
“The project management software industry has seen a lot of changes,” said Capterra President Mike Ortner. “There’s the way project managers have traditionally worked, and there’s the way many of them are working now. Our election highlights that shift in the industry.”
The 55 nominated solutions are divided into two parties; The Traditionalists work best with a traditional, phase-based methodology. The Contemporaries generally work best with an Agile or customizable approach. The software candidates can campaign for votes daily to advance through four rounds; the company with the most votes will be named “President” on November 7th.
“There are the ones everyone has heard of like Microsoft Project and Basecamp,” Ortner remarked. “But a lot of other companies have made huge strides and can’t be ignored.”
Voters can help move their favorite along, through four rounds of campaigning, by voting once a day between October 9 and November 6 at http://capterra.com/project-management-software-election. Capterra will report news about the campaign on the election site, from the Caucuses through the Electoral College, and followers can read the latest buzz on Twitter by following the hashtag #PMElection.
Ortner urges anyone with a stake in the project management industry to vote. “It’s an election year—make sure your voice is heard!”
