From Arkansas State University

The Arkansas StateUniversity women's cross country team's performance this 2012 season hasn't gone unnoticed as the Red Wolves have moved up into the top 10 in the latest regional rankings released this Monday (Oct. 15) by the United States and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)http://www.ustfccca.org/?DB_OEM_ID=7200.

A-State is currently ranked 10th in the fifth installment of the 2012 NCAA Division I South Central Region Rankings, which marks the first time in the program's history of being listed among the region's top 10 teams.

The Red Wolves, who are coached by Jim Patchell and Kyle Chandler, occupied the 13th-place position in each of the previous four regional polls this fall.

ASU is the lone Sun Belt Conference representative in the regional rankings as Arkansas and Texas continue to hold down the top two placings.

The Red Wolves are coming off a 15th-place team performance at this last Saturday's (Oct. 13) Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.

Arkansas State will now get set to compete in the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Championships to be held Oct. 27 in Bowling Green, Ky.  Western Kentucky will serve as the conference meet host.
