About 50 coaches from all across southeast Missouri came out for a clinic in Cape Girardeau Thursday designed to help coaches keep athletes safe.
Speakers at the clinic talked about topics ranging from concussions to recognizing prescription drug abuse.
Guest speaker Chris Nowiski is a former professional athlete.
He founded an institute that studies brain trauma in athletes.
He says parent involvement is the key to keeping athletes safe.
