JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- A banquet was held to pay tribute to the Exchange Club's "Officer of the Year" at the Knights of Columbus in Jonesboro this afternoon.
Arkansas State Police Trooper Craig Teague is this year's award recipient. Trooper Teague recently made a bust of $80,000 worth of raw cocaine on September 19th. Teague says he feels it's an honor to be a law enforcement officer and serving the community.
Teague says, "We get a bad rap, sometimes, by enforcing public safety, people sometimes do get cited and everything, but we do it because we want to keep that person and everyone around them safe. That's why we're here and that's why we have a job."
The Exchange Club has named an officer of the year every year since 1967.
