Helicopters provide personal look for ASU ROTC cadets

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Arkansas State University's ROTC cadets got an up close and personal look at some Black Hawk choppers.

Field training exercises took place off of County Road 114. More than 70 ASU Cadets participated in cold load training and rotations around Jonesboro with to 2 UH60 Black Hawk helicopters.

Cadet Nathaniel D'Cumming says this was an opportunity for all of them to get a true picture of what the army does. D'Cumming says, "In terms of growing leaders in the United States Army, showing them what it is to lead troops, not just in garrison environments but in combat environments, helicopters are integral for training and for combat deployment purposes."

The Black Hawks were provided by the 77th aviation brigade and the army national guard.
