LEACHVILLE, AR (KAIT) - The man at the center of an eight-hour standoff with Mississippi County law enforcement is scheduled to appear in court.
Leachville police charged James Shawn Poe with three counts of terroristic threatening after he barricaded himself in a trailer with at least 1,000 rounds of ammunition inside a trailer on Highway 119 in Leachville.
Two of the charges are from threatening police officers.
Police said they initially went to the trailer for a welfare check after Poe's mother told police she heard gunshots when she was on the phone with her son then lost contact with him.
The standoff began around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 Sunday, and ended around 1 a.m. Monday.
Officers who assisted the Leachville Police Department during the incident include the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department, Blytheville Police Department and the Osceola Police Department. The Leachville and Blytheville Fire Departments and Buffalo Island emergency workers also assisted during the incident.
No one was injured.
Poe will appear at a bond hearing in Blytheville Wednesday morning.
