IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Melbourne and Izard County resident will soon
have access to drop-off recycling two days each week.
According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, the
expansion begins Nov. 3 and will also be available every Saturday from noon
until 4 p.m. Materials accepted include all types of dry paper, flattened
cardboard, and empty plastic bottles, tin and aluminum cans.
During the month of November,
residential electronic waste drop-off services will also be available during
the Tuesday and Saturday recycling program schedules. Electronic waste includes old or broken
televisions, computers and accessories, scanners and fax machines, small
copiers, phones, video games, notebooks, I-Pods, VCR and DVD players, and etc.
The recycling program operates in the
parking area by the Izard County Detention Center, and community service
workers will be available to help unload materials, sort them, and place them
in recycling trailer bins from noon - 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
