From the Sun Belt Conference
The Louisiana-Lafayette at Louisiana-Monroe football game on November 3 will be shown on ESPN3 in addition to the Sun Belt Network, the Sun Belt Conference announced on Wednesday. Kickoff time is 3 p.m. (CT).
The game's selection for the Sun Belt Network was originally announced on August 1 and by contract ESPN reserves the right to select conference games up until 12 days prior to the game. Due to the willingness of both networks involved with the Sun Belt Network, Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and Cox Sports Television (CST) along with ESPN the game will be available for regular broadcast and now also nationally on ESPN3. Additionally, blackout restrictions that normally apply to Sun Belt Network games on ESPN3 will be lifted.
"We are very appreciative of all three parties involved for making this game available to as many viewers as possible," said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Karl Benson. "Bringing this game to more fans is a real bonus for the conference."
Now in its fourth season, the Sun Belt Network is a joint partnership with Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and Cox Sports Television (CST). Each game will be available in 13 states across the southeast and is often available on ESPN3 and ESPN GamePlan outside of the CSS and CST markets. The agreement with CSS and CST has resulted in the broadcasting of football, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, volleyball, and softball contests throughout the last three seasons. In whole, the Sun Belt Network has been responsible for over 100 events airing on CSS and CST over the past three seasons.
