False alarm for fire scare at healthcare facility

Posted: Updated:

MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) – Residents and employees of a Marked Tree healthcare facility had a scare this morning when smoke alarms went off in the building.

According to Nurse and Social Director Zach Hatley, the smoke alarms at Three Rivers Healthcare and Rehab only went off because dust had gotten on the heating units and burned off once the units were turned on.

Hatley said all 110 residents were accounted for and safe, and everyone has been cleared to go back inside and resume their daily routines.
