Farm safety for kids in Randolph Co.

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT)- Randolph County Conservation District is hosting a farm safety event.

Students from high schools were invited to drop by the Randolph County Fairgrounds in Pocahontas and speak with a number of experts on different safety issues. Booths were set up discussing such things as ATV's, grain bin and tractor safety.

Adam Eades, District Conservationist; Natural Resources Conservation Service says, "We've had many fatalities and accidents due to all different kinds of aspects of farming. So, we wanted to address these topics with school age children as they grow into the profession, see these hazards and avoid them."

The event lasted from 10 to 2 and around 130 students went through the booths.
