JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) – The Arkansas State soccer team will face Western Kentucky in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament after the league announced the final regular season standings on Friday night.
The Red Wolves finished fifth in the conference and will take on the No. 4 Hilltoppers on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. in Mobile, Ala., in the day's second match. The Lady Toppers enter the tournament having won their last seven matches and having allowed just 15 goals on the season.
ASU is making its second straight appearance in the tournament and its eighth overall. ASU lost to Western Kentucky 2-0 in the two school's match in Bowling Green, Ky., earlier this season.
With a win, A-State would move on to face the winner of the top-seeded North Texas Mean Green and the No. Florida Atlantic Owls on Friday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. The championship match is set for Saturday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m.
