A 7.7 magnitude earthquake near the Queen Charlotte Islands off the coast of British Columbia on Saturday does not pose a threat of a tsunami, according to state Civil Defense.
The earthquake happened at just after 5 p.m. Hawaii time. It had a depth of 17 kilometers.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says that a destructive pacific-wide Tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
