SEARCY, AR (KAIT) – The White County Sheriff's Office said that a stabbing happened Searcy.

According in investigators, officers were called to the Searcy Veterans of Foreign Wars Club early Sunday morning in reference to a fight, which turned out to be a stabbing.

Police told Region 8 News that Jesse Chatman, 33, of Searcy, allegedly stabbed Jonathan Kuni, 22, of Conway, 12 times around 12:45 a.m. with a switchblade.

Chatman has turned himself in, claiming self-defense, and Kuni was taken to the White County Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Chatman is currently being held at the White County Detention Center on unrelated warrants to for failure to pay fines.

This incident is still under investigation.
