JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) — Arkansas State sophomore forward Christina Fink has been named the College Sports Madness Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after her performance against Arkansas-Little Rock in the Red Wolves' regular season finale on Oct. 26.
Fink scored a goal and added an assist in ASU's 3-1 victory over the Trojans and helped ASU finish with its best regular season winning percentage in school history. A-State finished with an overall record of 11-7-1 and 5-4-1 in Sun Belt Conference play. The 11 wins are the most in school history and the five conference wins are tied for the most in schoolhistory.
Fink's goal and assist gave her 29 points for the season, the most ever in a single-season by an ASU player. Her nine goals also rank as the second most in school history, while her seven assists are tied for the second most in school history with Ashley McMurtry who also has seven assists on the year.
Fink is the first ASU Soccer to player to be honored by the publication's weekly award.
ASU will enter Wednesday's Sun Belt Conference tournament at the No.5 seed and will play No. 4 Western Kentucky at 1 p.m.
