NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) – A drive by shooting happened Saturday, said Newport Police officers.
Lieutenant Patrick Weatherford, with the Newport Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID), said the shooting happened around 9:50 p.m. at the 100 block of Erwin Street. He said a small car drove by a house a fired several shots toward it from the road.
Officers said they discovered that a vehicle had been struck in addition to the house, and none of the bullets actually penetrated the residence.
Police said no one was injured during the shooting, and no arrested have been made.
