ASP release name of man killed along Hwy 412

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Police say a man walking along Highway 412 was hit and killed by a semi Monday afternoon.

According to Arkansas State Police, 27-year-old Blake Howerton was walking along Highway 412 around 2pm when he stepped in front of a semi and was killed.

The driver of the semi, Brandon Snipes of New Albany, Mississippi was not injured.

Police the accident happened just before the Arkansas, Missouri state line.

The semi driver locked up the brakes after hitting the man, causing his load to shift and damaging his tractor-trailer.

Police say they have handled over the case to the prosecuting attorney's office to determine of any charges will be filed.
